Extract from the Student Regulations
self-government of NAU
2.1. The purpose of student self-government is to create conditions for self-realization of the students of the University and the formation of their organizational skills, leadership skills, responsibility for the results of their work and more. The activities of student self-government are aimed at ensuring the education of spirituality and culture of students of the University, the growth of their social activity
2.2. The main tasks of student government:
– protection of the rights and interests of students studying at the university;
– participation in the educational work at the university and its structural units;
– promotion of educational, scientific and creative activities of students;
– promoting the formation of students’ moral and ethical norms in accordance with the student code;
– education of patriotism;
– promotion of a healthy lifestyle, safe behavior, prevention of student offenses;
– assistance in improving the living and recreation conditions of students;
– cooperation with student self-government bodies of other higher educational institutions, youth public organizations, etc .;
– promoting the employment of graduates and attracting students to secondary employment in their free time;
– participation in solving issues of international student exchange, promoting student participation in international, national, interregional, regional and other student competitions, conferences, competitions, etc .;
– promoting student participation in the implementation of state youth policy;
– assistance in providing informational, legal, psychological, financial, legal and other assistance to students by relevant services, bodies, organizations, etc .;
– representation in collegial, representative, working, advisory bodies of the university and its structural units;
– cooperation with mentors (curators) of academic groups, heads of dormitories, heads of departments and other departments.
2.3. Student government operates on the principles of:
– voluntariness, collegiality, openness;
– election and reporting of student self-government bodies;
– equal rights of students and cadets to participate in student government;
– independence from the influence of political parties and movements, public and religious organizations.
