New directions, new advanced training programs

From January 9 to February 10, 2025, the Educational and Scientific Institute of Continuing Education of the State Educational and Scientific Institute of Continuing Education of the State Educational and Scientific Institute of Continuing Education held online advanced training courses for the first time under the new experimental program “School of Educational Program Guarantors”.

The training course program was created as a response to the urgent needs of training teaching and pedagogical staff of higher education institutions of Ukraine, who are involved in designing, passing the stages of the accreditation process and conducting post-accreditation monitoring of educational programs.

The goal of the program is to provide students with modern knowledge and skills that contribute to improving their qualifications in accordance with the existing regulatory requirements for the accreditation of educational programs.

The students of the advanced training courses “School of Educational Program Guarantors” were KAI teachers, educational program guarantors, heads of departments and structural units. The condition for selection for the training course was compliance with the following criteria: academic degree, experience in scientific and pedagogical activity in the field; professional orientation to activities related to the design of educational programs.

During the training, students had the opportunity to:

• consolidate the knowledge gained in the process of lectures-seminars (online) using interactive technologies (surveys, free discussion, group work, “living library”, etc.);
• at each lesson, complete mini-tasks on the materials of their educational programs with subsequent discussion of their results;
• before each lesson, receive an information package (normative documents, other materials) in electronic form.

All students who completed the training under the program of advanced training courses “School of Educational Program Guarantors” took a final online test.

Upon completion of the training, students were issued a Certificate with an appendix of the established sample.

The training was conducted by an experienced specialist with many years of international and domestic experience in the field of research on quality assurance of higher education Smyntina Olena Valentynivna – Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Odessa National University named after I. I. Mechnikov; Head of the Center for Quality Assurance of Higher Education; Coordinator of Certified Programs; Trainer of Experts and Leaders of Expert Groups on Accreditation of Educational Programs of the National Higher Education Organization.

Graduates’ feedback confirms the value of the program. The material was provided in a structured, accessible and exhaustive manner. The information richness of the necessary regulatory materials and documents was also noted.
