The issue of academic integrity at the scientific and practical seminar “Research activities of students”

Academic integrity begins with the virtuous behavior of each of us: pupils, students, parents, teachers, leaders of the educational sector. But, unfortunately, as our observations show, not all participants in the educational process and educational managers are familiar with the concept of academic integrity, and even more so, adhere to it.

The first session of the ongoing scientific and practical seminar “Scientific and research activity of students”, which took place on February 7, 2024 at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Continuing Education, was devoted to these questions.

The head of the higher education quality department of NAU Andriy GIZUN spoke at the seminar, who drew the attention of those present to the fact that Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine “On Education” defines academic integrity as a set of ethical principles and rules defined by law, which should be followed by participants in the educational process during learning, teaching and carrying out scientific (creative) activities.

The issues of compliance with the principles of academic integrity were paid attention to in their speeches by T.V.O. director Svitlana MIZYUK, acting the head of the Department of Management Technologies Tetyana OSTAPENKO and the professor of the Department of Public Management and Administration Iryna DEYNEGA.

Students of the first, second and fourth years of NNINO specialty 281 “Public management and administration” took an active part in the discussion of the questions, as well as the problems in solving them at NAU.
