Working meeting on harmonization of Ukrainian legislation and European standards for the training of clinical engineers

An important business meeting was held at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Continuing Education on the KAI TechPoint platform, dedicated to discussing ways to harmonize Ukrainian legislation with European standards in the field of retraining, training, advanced training and certification of clinical engineers.

The participants of the meeting, namely: Iryna Deynega – Director of the NNINO KAI, Hryhoriy Melnychuk – Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of KAI, Aram Danielyan – Deputy Director of the NNINO KAI and representatives of the NGO “Medical Designer” headed by Chairman Vladyslav Smirnov, Fedor Miroshnikov and Viktor Mazur discussed the following issues:

  • Defining the requirements for the qualification standard of a clinical engineer in Ukraine;
  • Experience of European countries in certification and training of such specialists;
  • Possible legal barriers to the implementation of European standards in the domestic certification system;
  • The possibilities of KAI in creating a program for retraining and advanced training of civil engineers, training of clinical engineers and their certification according to international standards, as well as cooperation cooperation with state bodies and the private sector sector for the implementation of this initiative.

The meeting was a continuation of the work of the KAI in the field of certification and professional training of specialists working in critical industries.

The participants of the meeting identified the key stages of the development and implementation of a new professional standard, outlined the role of the KAI in this process as a platform for expert discussion and implementation of advanced training programs and retraining of new programs.

The following meetings are planned to be held with representatives of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and the National Qualifications Agency to develop a unified strategy for the training of clinical engineers in higher education institutions of Ukraine.
