Developing professionalism and capabilities

On January 31, 2025, the Educational and Advisory Center for Advanced Training, Certification and Retraining of Personnel of the NNINO held another graduation of students under the new program “Psychological Rehabilitation of Military Personnel, Veterans and Their Families: Recovery after Combat Operations and Captivity”.

The course participants were mainly practical psychologists who, during the war, had to solve new and responsible issues of a difficult period of professional life. Most of them work with the military.

The proposed program has been expanded and updated. For the first time, the topic of group and individual psychocorrection and psychotherapy of persons who returned from captivity and their family members was comprehensively revealed to the students.

The students’ feedback indicates that the courses provided them with meaningful knowledge, many pressing issues were revealed, both regarding the support of military personnel, veterans, prisoners of war and their family members during their service and after. It was especially important that they were focused on the right direction of choosing communication tactics and providing psychological assistance to the military. It was very interesting to analyze real cases and use psychological exercises in practice.

The courses are conducted by Sergiy Vyshnichenko – a candidate of medical sciences, associate professor, practitioner and highly qualified specialist in the field of psychotherapy and psychiatry, who has experience in team work with military personnel, prisoners of war and their family members within the international project “Recovery during wartime”.
